K-Wick Cable Hangers
IF USING "K-WICK" CABLE HANGERS– then refer to illustration below. Figure A represents the forming of a loop around a beam or other object from which the duct will be suspended. Figure B and C illustrate the way the cable goes through the free sliding end of the ‘clutcher’, around the duct and back through the hole in the ‘clutcher’ that contains the gripping bar. A ‘thumb tab’ (D) on the side allows for release of the cable if needed.

Working load it duct only. Break load is upper limit capacity. To determine size and/or number us weight of duct if it is plugged with material. Ex: An 8" duct has volume of .34 cubic ft per foot. (A=(3.14(pie)x 16 (r2) x 12")/1728 (cubic inches per cube). If your material weighs 15 lbs/cu ft, then an 8" duct will weigh the amount of the metal plus 5.1 lbs. per foot. |
NOTE: When hanging duct, it is suggested that you hang the duct
at opposing 30-45 deg angles so as to prevent the duct from swinging.
Saddle Hangers
K&B Duct offers saddles in ALL sizes. They are constructed of 10 ga steel (black iron or galvanized). The tab ends are drilled to receive joining bolts (not included) or for use with threaded rod, conduit, cables or other hanging material.
